Who We Are
Claire is the owner/operator of Claire Desmarais Woodworking, with over 20 years of experience as a cabinet maker and fine woodworker. She apprenticed under Jim Quinsey of Treeline Woodworking in Whitehorse and in 1991 started out on her own developing a reputation for quality work and customer satisfaction. She is an active member of the community being both a volunteer fire fighter with the Mount Lorne Fire hall and one of the founding member of Paddlers Abreast a breast cancer survivor support group. Her commitment to the environment is not just with her woodworking practices but she is also an organic crop inspector and a member of Independent Organic Inspector Association (IOIA). Al though Claire's longtime partner and sometime woodworking assistant is just starting into his own business field of Computer Numerical Control Routing (CNC) and design. Al has just retired from 18 years of teaching in the computer studies field at Yukon College, is a certified civil/water resource engineering technician and holds several certifications in PC repair and maintenance and networking technology. His passion however is boats, working on boats, sailing boats and just plain messing around on boats.
