Skalu is our own boat which we have done extensive restoration and modification to over the years. She is motorsailor built in Finland in 1976 with a fiberglass hull, but her cabin and interior is constructed of mahogany and her deck is made of teak. We've had to do some replacement of wood in her cabin due to rot over the years. She has also been completely refinished to her original bright work and we've also custom built several pieces of furniture for her interior. Off the stern of Skalu you can see part of the dinghy we built for her. The dinghy is built of marine grade mahogany using the stitch and glue method of construction. The dinghy is hanging off a set of davits that we also constructed. Min who passed away several years ago was our trusty boat and shop dog.
