Over the years we have built several of these pine chests of different sizes and configurations. Most often they are placed in the bedroom at the foot of the bed for storage of blankets and bed sheets. Some have been built as kid's toy chests and others for storage of keepsakes and treasured belongings. Of course they can be built of any wood or design you wish.
